What a phone script usually needs

One voice for every prompt

Most phone systems need more than one recording. A typical set looks like this, and it helps to send them together so the whole line sounds like one company:

  • GreetingYour company name and a short welcome
  • Menu“For sales, press 1” and the rest, in the order callers need them
  • After hoursOpening hours, and what to do in an emergency
  • VoicemailFor the main line and for each person or team
  • On-holdShort messages that play between the music

When you change your hours or add a holiday message later, send me the new lines and they’ll match the rest of the set.

Questions

IVR and on-hold voice over FAQ

What file format do you deliver?

Whatever your phone system asks for. Tell me the file type and settings, or the name of your phone system, and I’ll match it.

Can each prompt be its own file?

Yes. Number or name each prompt in your script and the files will come back named the same way.

Can you add music?

Yes. I can deliver the voice on its own, or mixed with music under it like the demos on this page.

How long should an on-hold message be?

Short. A few sentences per message works better than one long loop, because callers hear it more than once.

Can you add a new message later?

Yes. Send the new lines when your hours change or a holiday comes up, and they’ll match the voice on the rest of your line.

Is this an AI voice?

No. Every prompt is recorded by me, a real person, so your callers hear a real person.
